IC Filling Systems has just installed a carbonator and filling machine to Bio Brasseurs in Strasbourg which is being used to bottle Kombucha.
“We're delighted to have been chosen as the supplier for filling a beverage that has a fast growing market share globally.” said Marco Solferini, Sales Director at IC Filling Systems.
What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a is a variety of fermented, lightly effervescent sweetened black or green tea drink.
Kombucha originated in what is now Manchuria around 220 BC, and is said to have been imported to Japan around 400 AD by the physician Kombu. It has become a common drink in the United States, and is growing in popularity worldwide. The alcohol content of the Kombucha is usually less than 1%, but increases with fermentation time.
Our installation at Bio Brasseurs links a 500-litre carbonator with a compact 441 semi-automatic bottling unit, sealing the bottles with a special ring-pull closure.
